Director of Radio Services Oshkosh Campus
The Radio TV Film Department, within the College of Letters and Science, invites applications for the position of Radio Director. This position will start fall 2020. Responsibilities are split between managing the operation of the campus radio station, WRST-FM, while serving as the FCC-mandated Chief Operator; and teaching courses within the Radio TV Film major/minor. Course subjects will include audio production, broadcast journalism and broadcast operations. This person will work closely with student volunteers and employees, serving as the faculty adviser for the student radio organization that assists with station operations and programming.
Transfer Student Counselor Oshkosh, Fox Cities, and Fond Du Lac Campuses
The successful candidate will be a member of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh undergraduate recruitment and enrollment team. The counselor will serve as a University ambassador and liaison with prospective students, families, other post-secondary institutions and community members throughout the state and region. A focus of this position will be recruitment and support of transfer students.
Finance Specialist and Front Desk Manager Oshkosh Campus
Gruenhagen Conference Center is a year round, full-service conference center facility specializing in comprehensive event management on the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh campus. We are seeking a Finance Specialist/Front Desk Manager who will serve as a member of our Department of Residence Life Conference Services management team that is responsible for the deployment and execution of camps, conferences, conventions, meetings and other events hosted on the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh campus.
Groundskeeper Fox Cities Campus
This position is responsible for the care and maintenance of campus ornamental plantings and turf areas; the operation and maintenance of grounds equipment and snow and ice control. This position will function as a member of the Facilities Management Team; providing grounds maintenance, assistance to other departments, customer service and relations to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh community. Employees are expected to be flexible in the performance of their job functions and to communicate openly with supervisors and co-workers, other departments and University staff. The normal work shift is 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday; overtime work will be required--especially during the winter season. Applicants must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time under adverse weather conditions and have the ability to perform assigned physical tasks from a standing or walking position throughout the normal, eight hour, work shift. Must have a valid WI driver’s license and be authorized to drive a University vehicle, upon appointment.
Steamfitter Oshkosh Campus
This journey-level Steamfitter position provides steam and building controls service to the entire University community – install, repair, maintain and remodel steam distribution and condensate return systems (including high and low-pressure piping, reducing stations, valves, operators, traps, strainers); troubleshoot, repair, and replace all natural gas and propane systems; perform gas and arc welding, high temperature brazing, silver soldering and low temperature soft soldering applications; install, repair, maintain and remodel heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning equipment; will use the Johnson Controls Metasys system to monitor, test, analyze data, adjust, repair, and install heating, ventilating, air conditioning, components and systems. Must be a licensed journey-level steamfitter by the State of Wisconsin or claim work experience equivalent to that required for successful completion of an apprenticeship (8000 hours). Upon appointment must be certified to weld black iron pipe using 6010 and 7018. Possession of a Wisconsin and Federal license for handling refrigerant (the Federal license must be one of a universal classification) is required within one year of appointment. Must have a valid WI driver’s license and be authorized to drive a university vehicle. This position will function as a member of the Facilities Management Maintenance team (Plumbers, Electricians, and Facilities Maintenance Specialists) providing customer service and relations to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh community. Employees are expected to be flexible in the performance of their job functions and to communicate openly with supervisors and co-workers, other departments, and University staff. This position may occasionally be asked to work hours in excess of the normal shift (7:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday) and after-hour call-ins. Must pass a pre-work screen to ensure the ability to perform essential physical functions of the position.
Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds of Facilities Management - Fond du Lac Campus Fond Du Lac Campus
The Buildings and Grounds Superintendent of Facilities Management position is a full-time and reports to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Facilities Director of Operations and Maintenance and has frequent interaction with the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Director of Facilities Planning and Construction. The Supervisor is responsible for campus based coordination pertaining to facilities, workforce, budget, maintenance, housekeeping, and grounds keeping. The Supervisor will maintain strong relationships with counties and cities who are in partnership and sponsor the UW Oshkosh campuses, and will work frequently with them on matters involving continuous care and improvement of facilities. There is an expectation that the Supervisor will frequently meet and interact with administration, faculty and staff.
Management Services Assistant Oshkosh Campus
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Residence Life - Management Services and Programs, the Management Services Assistant in the Department of Residence Life at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is responsible for the activities related to purchasing, cash handling, vendor relationships, and student employee payroll. The Management Services Assistant works closely with other Residence Life staff and campus offices to coordinate purchasing for department programming, staffing, and operations as well as serving as the primary monitor of the department's use of budget. This position serves as the main back up to the Operations Support Manager (Cash Manager) with responsibilities for management of cash advances, collection of revenue, revenue reporting & auditing, and administration of various contracts. Additionally, this position supports all hourly-paid student employees within the department with responsibilities for posting, file management, payroll appointments, and record keeping. The position has additional responsibilities to support the overall efficient functioning of the front office of Residence Life and ensure positive customer service experiences for students, parents, and families. Standard working hours are 7:45am to 4:30pm, Monday - Friday. Some night, weekend, and holiday hours are required to support residence hall openings and closings.
New Student Application and Records Coordinator Oshkosh Campus
The New Student Application and Records Coordinator position coordinates the preparation of nearly 18,000 application records annually in an office environment that emphasizes timely customer service. There is frequent contact with prospective and current students, university staff, academic staff, faculty, and administrators. The position reports to the Director of Admissions and works 40 hours per week.
Maintenance Mechanic Oshkosh Campus
This position is responsible for maintenance and repair of University buildings, HVAC equipment and cooling towers. Additional duties include maintenance of swimming pool, food service equipment, and laundry equipment. Must have or be able to obtain a valid WI driver’s license and be authorized to drive a University vehicle, upon appointment. This position will function as a member of the Facilities Management Maintenance team (plumbers, steamfitters, electricians, HVAC mechanics, and facilities maintenance specialists) providing customer service and relations to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh community. Employees are expected to be flexible in the performance of their job functions and to communicate openly with supervisors and co-workers, other departments, and University staff. This position may occasionally be asked to work hours in excess of the normal shift (7:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday) and after-hour call-ins. Custodial Services Supervisor Oshkosh Campus
Reporting to the Custodial Superintendent, this individual will provide supervision and leadership to the custodial team at UW Oshkosh. The Custodial Services Department is comprised of a diverse staff, consisting of Lead Custodians, Permanent and Limited Term Custodians, and University student employees. The daily duties of this position include assigning tasks, assessing staffing levels, assessing work performance, inspecting buildings for quality of cleaning and supply/equipment needs, inventory control, equipment and material distribution, maintaining accurate records and enforcing workplace health and safety. This position is an important part of the Facilities Management team, and will occasionally fill in for other supervisors within the Facilities Management Department in their absence. This individual must have a high energy level, excellent oral and written communication skills, must maintain a positive attitude in dealing with the needs of the many campus faculty, students, and staff. Normal work days are Monday - Friday, 4pm to 12am. Occasional weekend and evening work may be required. This person must have a valid WI driver's license and be authorized to drive a University vehicle upon appointment. A criminal background investigation is required. Must pass a pre-work screen to ensure the ability to perform essential physical functions of the position.
Project Coordinator Oshkosh, Fox Cities, and Fond Du Lac Campuses
This new position will have primary responsibility for the day-to-day activities necessary to execute the recently awarded three-year Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) Grant to reduce sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking on campus. Activities encompassed by this grant include establishing a Community Coordinated Response Team (CCRT), facilitating trauma-informed care trainings, and developing a bystander intervention program for local alcohol-serving establishments. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Health Promotion in Student Recreation and Wellness. Work Schedule: The OVW Project Coordinator will work 30 hours per week; schedule may vary depending on when trainings are scheduled.
Manager of Services for Postal, Document and Receiving/Delivery Oshkosh Campus
The incumbent in this position is responsible for managing the University’s campus mailing operations, digital document reprographics, and University receiving and delivery. This includes the overall management and supervision of 4 permanent employees and multiple students working approximately 840 hours per semester. The incumbent is also responsible for budget preparation, monitoring and billing of over $140,000 in services annually, including the processing of over 720,000 pieces of mail, 13,000 packages and 4,000,000 document impressions per year with chargebacks to over 1000 departmental accounts. Additionally, the incumbent manages the campus-wide provision of such services as inserting ink-jet addressing, facsimiles, United States Postal Service (USPS) overnight mail delivery, United Parcel Service (UPS) delivery, address database cleanup, document finishing, and document delivery. The incumbent is responsible for all Postal Document Services, and University receiving and delivery daily functions, including policy, budgeting and purchasing of equipment and supplies. The incumbent monitors and enforces compliance campus-wide with all Federal postal rules and regulations relating to University mailing activities. The incumbent in this position reports directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor of the Office of Finance and Administration, and works Monday through Friday, generally 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., throughout the year.
Custodian Lead Oshkosh Campus
The Custodian Lead reports to the Custodial Services Supervisor and is responsible for guiding custodial staff (permanent, temporary and student) in the performance of cleaning services, in addition to performing regular cleaning tasks. The incumbent must have excellent communication, organizational and time management skills when working with students, custodians, staff and supervisors; be physically able to perform custodial duties according to department standards; have the ability to assign and review work; have the ability to operate custodial cleaning equipment according to instructions; and follow all safety rules and report safety violations to a supervisor. The employee may come in contact with blood-borne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials. Must have or be able to obtain a valid WI driver’s license and be authorized to drive a University vehicle upon appointment; will drive a university fleet vehicle (van, passenger van or box truck) to deliver equipment and supplies; must successfully complete a pre-work screen to ensure the ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Hours of work are: Monday-Friday 4pm to 12am, every other weekend
