The Office of International Education (OIE) occasionally has Program Instructor positions available.  Program Instructors develop and instruct non-credit course sessions on a specific topic or within an area of expertise to provide continuing education opportunities to the institution and affiliated community.  Total number of teaching hours and mode of delivery (face-to-face or virtual) varies by program.  A course schedule is generally built following interviews; the OIE may not be able to accommodate all candidates' schedules.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Bachelor's degree; 
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening and interpersonal skills in English; 
  • Initiative and ability to independently design, deliver and assess creative learning experiences that meet stated program learning outcomes; 
  • Strong classroom or group management skills and an ability to develop rapport quickly; 
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and ability to interact diplomatically with a diverse group of individuals; 
  • Motivation and commitment as a team player, including positive thinking and an enthusiastic attitude; 
  • Flexibility, including the acceptance of and willingness to change to meet students’ learning needs. 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Experience serving learners of similar background to program participants; 
  • Experience teaching speakers of English as a foreign language; 
  • Experience developing innovative curriculum and/or using innovative technologies; 
  • Experience living or studying abroad; 
  • Proficiency in a second language; 
  • Understanding and successful use of learning technology; 
  • Master's degree in a field relevant to program learning outcomes.
