Position Summary:

This new position will have primary responsibility for the day-to-day activities necessary to execute the recently awarded three-year Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) Grant to reduce sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking on campus. Activities encompassed by this grant include establishing a Community Coordinated Response Team (CCRT), facilitating trauma-informed care trainings, and developing a bystander intervention program for local alcohol-serving establishments. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Health Promotion in Student Recreation and Wellness.

Work Schedule: The OVW Project Coordinator will work 30 hours per week; schedule may vary depending on when trainings are scheduled.

Responsibilities

Coordinated Community Response Team (15%)
- Establish a Coordinated Community Response Team (CCRT).
- Coordinate monthly CCRT meetings.
- Serve as liaison between the CCRT and the Student Care Team. 
- Organize open forums for the CCRT to garner community input on sexual and interpersonal violence prevention. 
- Communicate prevention programming hosted on campus to the CCRT.

Trauma-Informed Care Training (50%)
- Train internal and external partners to become Trauma Informed Care trainers
- Track trainings conducted and number of people trained
- Build relationships with departments and organizations on all three campuses to increase buy-in for trauma informed care training
- Evaluate trainings

Bystander Intervention for Alcohol-Serving Establishments (20%)
- Expand and adapt current bystander intervention program and deliver to alcohol-serving establishments that surround the three UWO campuses
- Work with external and internal grant partners on curriculum development and implementation
- Facilitate bystander intervention training for the staff of alcohol-serving establishments
- Conduct evaluations and ongoing assessment of the bystander intervention program for alcohol-serving establishments

Grant Management (15%)
- Serve as point of contact for the OVW Grant from the Department of Justice
- Manage overall grant budget
- Correspond with OVW as necessary or required in grant guidelines
- Produce grant reports and assessments
- Work with the UWO grants accountant to manage the grant budget
- Ensure activities conducted are in line with Department of Justice guidelines

This position requires the ability to travel to all three UWO campuses and to the communities surrounding the three campuses.

Some evenings and weekends may be required to accommodate training and meeting schedules.

Attend a 4-day training in Milwaukee to become a Certified Trauma Informed Care Train-the-Trainer through SaintA’s (training fees, travel, and lodging covered by the grant).

Qualifications  
Required: Demonstrated commitment to diversity and social justice
Bachelor’s Degree by March 2020
Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals, including staff, students, and community members
Public speaking and/or training facilitation experience
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Student Affairs, Human Services, Public Health, Social Work or a related field by March 2020
Demonstrated experience in assessment and collaborative program planning
Training in Trauma Informed Care or other similar topics
Demonstrated commitment to campus violence prevention
Prior grant management experience
Understanding of federal and local laws pertaining to interpersonal and sexual violence on a college campus
