Position Summary: The College of Letters and Science at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh invites applications for an assistant professor (tenure-track) or associate professor (tenure possible upon appointment) as Director of the International Studies (IS) Program. The discipline is open. We seek a forward-thinking and imaginative Director who can build upon a solid tradition of academic excellence in international affairs by shaping a modern, innovative, and interdisciplinary curriculum.
Responsibilities The Director will teach introductory and upper-level courses for the IS major and its associated area studies minors. The position also requires significant advising, mentoring, and administrative tasks. Expectations for tenure, renewal and promotion are outlined in the tenure home department’s policies.
Qualifications  
Required: • Ph.D. or appropriate terminal degree relevant to International Studies
• A minimum of two years' experience teaching at the post-secondary level
• An active research agenda in an area that contributes to International Studies
• Demonstrated experience advising and mentoring students
Preferred: • Research agenda anchored in the developing world
• Some higher education administrative experience
