Position Summary: |
Primary responsibility of oversight of the behavioral, mental health, disability and individualization support services for students as well as ongoing professional development and coaching of staff.

Responsibilities |
Coordinate and oversight of professional development and coaching of staff. (40%)
- Plan and coordinate the ongoing professional development of staff and maintain associated records
- Plan, design and facilitate professional development and training opportunities to support teachers in curriculum implementation, high-quality teaching practices, securing credentials, and other topics determined through the data informed decision-making process
- Coordinate the coaching of staff utilizing the Practice Based Coaching Model and monitor the associated records
- Plan and coordinate the completion of program quality assessments (PQA, TPOT and CLASS) utilized in the coaching role to assess and support the adoption of high quality teaching practices
- Conduct program quality assessments (PQA, TPOT and CLASS) as necessary
- Oversee the collection of coaching and program quality assessment data and associated records
Coordinate and oversight of the behavioral, mental health, disability and individualization support services for children and families (40%)
- Plan, design and facilitate professional development, training and consultation focused on meeting the overall developmental needs of individual students inclusive of social, emotional and behavioral
- Monitor the completion, documentation, follow up and utilization of behavioral and developmental screenings
- Lead a team of professionals in assisting staff in understanding and changing how they perceive the meaning of behaviors and atypical development through regular meetings and reflection
- Partners with SEDS and classroom staff in the development of classroom interventions and individual supports for children with atypical behavior or development
- Coordinate the program wide adoption and implementation of the Pyramid Model
- Complete TPOT observations following timelines outlined in policy and procedure
- Support use and collection of data (ie BIRs, TPOT, BoQs) at monthly Pyramid Leadership meeting
- Act as External Coach for assigned sites
- Stay abreast of initiatives related to Wisconsin Pyramid Model
- Monitor required mental health, developmental and disability documentation for tracking and reporting purposes
- Oversee the purchase, compilation and dissemination of quarterly school readiness kits, classroom curricular materials, and center and classroom libraries.
- Maintain the Teaching Strategies Gold data base and assist in the reporting of outcomes.
Support center operations by providing leadership support in the absence of the Early Childhood Coordinator. (10%)
- As assigned by the supervisor, support sites in the absence of an ECC to ensure operations of the center to meet licensing and federal standards
- As assigned by the supervisor, create and implement contingency plans regarding staff absences in the absence of the ECC
Engage in Community to advocate for services for children and families. (10%)
- Interface and coordinate with mental health consultant
- Collaborate with community mental health agencies to serve children and families
- Collaborate with the school districts to serve children and families
- Enhance/expand services through partnerships and/or participate in development of written plans/agreements
- Serve as a UWO Head Start representative on Early Childhood Advisory Committees within the community

Qualifications |
|
Required: |
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field.
- Two (2) years of experience as a lead early childhood teacher.
- Two (2) years of experience directly supervising early childhood staff.
- Knowledge and experience with developmental screenings and appropriate observation/assessment methods.
- Experience working with children and families of children with social, emotional, behavioral and/or developmental needs.
- Experience in leading, mentoring and supporting effective, high-quality, child-development services.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and familiar with Google Drive.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Preferred: |
- Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in early childhood education supervision.
- One (1) year of experience in Head Start or a similar federally funded early childhood program.
- Knowledge of Family Services philosophy
- Two (2) years of experience implementing evidence-based early childhood curricula, such as the High/Scope curriculum.
- Participation in the Pyramid Model or Conscious Discipline for two (2) years or completion of related training.
- Two (2) years of experience with the Practice-Based Coaching Model or a related certification.
- Two (2) years of experience accessing and utilizing community resources to support child and family services.
- Proficient use of Child Plus and Teaching Strategies Gold
