Position Summary:

Provides support and assistance to early childhood education staff. Supports high quality parent, family, and community engagement.

This is temporary work and cannot "work into" permanent employment.

Generally, temporary employees receive minimal benefits. Under certain circumstances, temporary employees may be eligible for retirement and insurance coverage (see below).

Temporary employees are covered by Social Security. Social Security taxes will be deducted from your paycheck. The State of Wisconsin pays a matching share toward your Social Security coverage. The taxable wage base and tax rate are subject to periodic adjustments.

If you are injured on the job, you may be eligible for worker's compensation benefits. Contact the Worker's Compensation Coordinator at 424-2070 for more information.

Temporary employees are not eligible for sick leave, vacation or holiday pay

Responsibilities

1. Engages in collaborative partnership building with children, staff, and parents to identify goals, strengths, necessary services, and other support

2. Maintains the safety and physical well-being of children at all times and in all environments

3. Implements individualized and developmental educational plans for children

4. Assists with early childhood education related tasks 

Qualifications  
Required:

High School diploma or equivalent

Desire and ability to work effectively with young children

Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Preferred:

Some Early Childhood classes

Associates Degree

At least one (1) year experience working with children
