Position Summary:

The functions of this position include but are not limited to administration of curricular-related initiatives and assessment of student learning activities, including academic program review, articulation agreements, system reports, assessment of general education and majors and general education initiatives. In addition, this position provides direct supervision to the Registrar, the Director of the Undergraduate Advising Resource Center, the Director of the Center for Academic Resources, and the Director of the University Studies Program. This position is also responsible for handling communication between programs and system regarding implementation of policies related to program approval, program review and participation as administrative liaison to Academic Policies Committee, Faculty Senate Committee for the Assessment of Student Learning, University Studies Committee and matters concerning accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission.

Responsibilities

30% - Administration of Curricular Affairs 

  1. program approval 

  1. program review 

  1. articulation agreements 

  1. UW system reports regarding curricular inventory/activities 

  1. USP curriculum 

  1. signature authority on curriculum documents 

  1. HLC institutional liaison 

  1. HLC accreditation review oversight 

  1. Program Planning and Review (PPR) Liaison to UW System Administration 

  1. Oversight of CCDET and OPLR collaborative programs 

 

20% - Administration of Assessment of Student Learning 

  1. implementation of assessment plan review 

  1. data collection related to academic support services 

  1. coordination of national assessments 

 

25% - Supervision and General Administrative Duties  

  1. Supervision and administrative oversight of the Registrar, Center for Academic Resources, Undergraduate Advising Resource Center 

  1. Coordination of Academic Program Plan and Assessment Plan  

  1. Coordination of Updating Institutional Accountability Report 

  1. Coordinate participation in Wisconsin’s Eligibility Training Program (ETPL) 

 

25% - Committee Leadership and Involvement  

  1. Administrative Representative to the following Faculty Senate committees: University Studies Program, Academic Policies Committee, Committee on Assessment of Student Learning. 

  1. Member—Provost's Administrative Staff, Chancellor's Leadership Council 

  1. Campus representative for American Democracy Project 

  1. Guide and support institutional initiatives and activities for student success including service on various ad hoc committees and leading task forces as needed 

 

Qualifications  
Required:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  1. Doctorate or terminal degree relevant to the position

  1. Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, scholarly activity, and service, with evidence of meaningful contributions to the academic mission and student success 

  1. Knowledge of data collection methodologies 

  1. Knowledge of assessment practices in higher education 

  1. Ability to evaluate curriculum based on system standards 

  1. Knowledge of accreditation practices, standards and processes 

  1. Experience in academic administration or leadership roles in higher education, with demonstrated ability to oversee curricular and assessment initiatives

  1. Must be eligible for tenure and rank of associate professor 

  2. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Preferred:

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  1. Three (3) years of of experience in academic administration or leadership, preferably within higher education, demonstrating effective management of programs and initiatives

  1. Demonstrated commitment to student learning, retention, and academic progression

  1. Strong interpersonal, analytical, and decision-making skills 

  1. Desire to foster a sense of community within the college and university 

  1. Innovative leadership in academic administration 

  1. Energetic, open and collegial administrative style  

  2. Willingness to foster diversity as well as the capacity to work collaboratively with diverse constituencies
