Responsibilities

Student and Faculty Outreach 90% 

  • Provide industry advising to students (from all campuses) and recent alumni on a diverse array of topics including exploration, career readiness, professionalism, job search strategies, and graduate school preparation

  • Facilitate implementation of professional career skills into the curriculum through classroom presentations that provide educational and/or networking opportunities for students 

  • Communicate, coordinate, and facilitate with faculty and staff on timelines and coordination for students to successfully participate in professional development programming across multiple programs

  • Coordinate industry advising events to connect students with professionals and trends in their career interests 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers, professional associations, alumni, parents, and graduate programs to advising, networking, programming, and other career education purposes 

  • Advocate for and train students, staff, and faculty on all career tools and technologies offered by the unit 

  • Secure a 90%+ overall rate for completion of the first destination outcome collection from students that graduate each semester 

  • Market information about career paths, industry trends, employers, opportunities, and student success stories to students 

Administrative 10% 

  • Engage in a campus committee to positively enhance the student experience and connections

  • Seek out professional development opportunities to advance knowledge, skills, and abilities to stay current with trends and advancements in the field 

Qualifications
 
Required:

Bachelor's degree  

Knowledge of career development process and current industry trends 

Excellent presentation skills along with strong oral and written communication skills 

Ability to use a variety of technologies in program delivery 

Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Preferred:

Master’s Degree in related field  

Direct experience working in an area of career development in higher education

Knowledge of learning outcomes and processes of an experiential learning program for students  

Experience with employer engagement and outreach
