Position Summary:
These positions, under the direction of the UW Oshkosh Competitive Sports Manager, are responsible for serving as head coaches and administrators for UW Oshkosh Fond du Lac Sports for the 2022-2023 academic year. Applicants will specify their desired sport in the application process. Specific responsibilities will be determined by the Competitive Sports Manager. This position will work primarily evenings and weekends with workloads weighted toward league seasons and playoffs. The UW Oshkosh Fox Cities Campus Competitive Sports compete in a regular season and postseason tournament against other UW System two-year campuses, against non-conference opponents from local four-year and two-year institutions, and in regional/national tournaments.
Women’s Volleyball League Season & Playoffs: September – November
(Tournaments & Non-League Games Available: January – August)
Men’s Basketball League Season & Playoffs: January – March
(Tournaments & Non-League Games Available: April – December)
Responsibilities:
· Provide instruction of game strategies and related skills to student-athletes
· Recruit student-athletes from both area high schools and UWO Fond du Lac enrolled students
· Maintain roster minimums
· Plan practice schedules and submit to the Athletic Director as requested
· Monitor and encourage the academic progress of student athletes
· Record and report statistics and results as requested
· Supervise all aspects of the team, including student-athletes and equipment, during practices, games, and travel
· Enforce UWO Fond du Lac and sport governing body academic and conduct policies and procedures
· Ensure all aspects of the team positively represent UWO Fond du Lac both inside and outside the athletic environment
· Attend all coach/staff meetings and trainings
· Establish a regular presence on campus by attending events such as Registration, Orientation, Campus Preview, Student Life Fairs, etc.
· Participate in team and department fundraising efforts
· Serve as Campus Staff Advisor for the club to maintain official recognition status with the University
· Maintain club webpage and social media platforms
· Assist with game day set-up and take-down
· Assist in the coordination of team travel arrangements
· Schedule practices, games, and tournaments and stay current on local, regional, and national competition opportunities
· Serve as site supervisor as needed
