Supervises building and grounds staff to meet the needs of the university, its employees, and visitors.
Occasional weekend and evening work may be required. Must have a valid WI driver’s license or the ability to obtain one and be authorized to drive a university vehicle upon appointment. This person will require a criminal background investigation.

- Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
- Develops and schedules unit operational work plans
- Schedules logistics and secures resources for the completion of established projects
- Communicates unit goals and objectives, implements unit operational policies and procedures, and provides training and feedback to ensure safety and compliance
Experience in landscape design using a variety of trees, shrubs, annuals, and perennials.
Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions used in grounds landscaping, maintenance, and snow removal.
Work experience operating grounds equipment (riding mowers, tractors, small engine equipment and snow plowing equipment).
Work experience regarding snow and ice control methods, materials, and equipment.
H.S. Diploma or equivalent.

Experience with CMMS and preventative maintenance.
Work experience in a college or university setting.
Work experience maintaining natural and artificial turf.

Associates or bachelor’s degree in Horticulture.
