Position Summary:

The Department of Leadership, Literacy, & Social Foundations at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh seeks a colleague to serve for one year in an Instructional Academic Staff position, for the 2020-21 academic year. The person in this position will teach undergraduate literacy courses on campus; teaching a graduate course in the MSE-Literacy program in an off-campus cohort may be possible as well.

The Department of Leadership, Literacy, & Social Foundations provides undergraduate courses in literacy and social foundations for all teacher preparation programs offered by the College of Education and Human Services as well as graduate programs leading to a master’s degree, licensure as a reading teacher, reading specialist, principal, or director of instruction, a doctorate in educational leadership, and a certificate in literacy coaching. Literacy faculty members in this department are committed to local, state, and national leadership in literacy and to a vision of literacy teaching and learning that is multimodal, constructivist, and equitable.


90% teach undergraduate courses

10% contribute to department activities

Required: - Master’s degree in appropriate field
- Three years’ teaching experience in a PK-12 setting
Preferred: - Doctorate or ABD
- Experience facilitating professional development for PK-12 educators
- Experience leading a literacy program in a PK-12 setting
- Evidence of collaborative activities in in PK-12 settings
- Record of engagement (leadership, committees, conference presentations) in local, state, or
national professional organizations
