Position Summary: The position provides support and assistance to the Food Program Coordinator and is necessary for the monitoring and support of the food program. Position is responsible for the implementation of CACFP Guidance Memorandum requirements, monitoring and oversight of food production for each UW Oshkosh Head Start center, and for monitoring and communication regarding nutrition individualization based on child needs. Assist the Food Program Coordinator with oversight and monitoring of food service staff. Provide support, resources, and training to staff in the areas of child nutrition. Participate in program activities, parent meetings, and training events for the geographical area. Provide guidance to centers to maintain proper nutrition with attention to safety and health prevention measures. Network and collaborate with the leadership team and professionals in the community.
Responsibilities

A.  Assist Food Program Coordinator with oversight and monitoring of food service staff including support, resources and training of staff in the areas of nutrition.

B. Provide ongoing monitoring of food program implementation in order to ensure compliance with CACFP and State regulations.

C.  Provide support to Early Childhood Coordinators regarding daily operation of kitchen and center.

Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalency

  • Completion of or ability to complete an Early Childhood Nutrition course within first year 

  • Current ServSafe Certification or equivalent; or ability to obtain prior to start date  

  • Successful completion of criminal background check

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and/or Google Drive

  • Valid State of Wisconsin driver’s license

Preferred:
  • Experience working in licensed child care and/or Head Start with working knowledge of Wisconsin Child Care licensing regulations and/or experience in implementation of Performance Standards and regulations.

  • Experience in mentoring, coaching and/or training of staff

  • Experience in monitoring for completion of policies and procedures

  • Skills and knowledge to access appropriate community resources
