Position Summary:

ArtsCore, a partnership between the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, the Paine Art Center and Gardens and regional public school districts, seeks to support pre-service and new teachers in their efforts to teach in and through the arts by developing and implementing programming designed to enhance their competence and confidence to do so.

This position reports to the Director of ArtsCore. Major responsibilities include but are not limited to providing administrative support, coordinating, organizing, and scheduling events, communicating with a wide variety of constituencies, and managing student workers. Hours will average 24-28 per week with more hours necessary between August and May, fewer hours in June and July. The schedule is to be determined.

  1. Administrative Support    
    1. Field general questions related to ArtsCore
    2. Provide back up support for billing and invoice procedures with Administrative Services and the Paine
    3. Assist students through the application and planning stages related to travel grants.
    4. Assist students through the application process for internships.
    5. Manage payment of interns.
    6. Maintain an ArtsCore database
    7. Assist Director in gathering and organizing assessment data and exploring alternative funding sources.
    8. Attend and take minutes at monthly Leadership Team meetings and other meetings as necessary.
    9. Other duties as requested.
  2. Event Planning and Coordination                                                        
    1. Assist in ArtsCore programming including but not limited to duplication of materials, name tags, supplies and catering.
    2. Organize the practical arrangements for ArtsCore workshops and meetings that would include but not limited to pre and post event set up.
    3. Support in scheduling content programming, travel needs, meetings, etc.
    4. Other duties as requested.
  3. Communication     
    1. Collaborate with the Director, co-Coordinators and Leadership team to develop communication strategies.
    2. Maintain website and social networking site content.
    3. Maintain and update a contact list.
    4. Assist in the creation and maintenance of ArtsCore marketing materials
    5. Contribute to publicity efforts, including the development of a monthly newsletter.
    6. Other duties as requested.
  4. Manage Student Workers                                                                                                                                  
    1. Train, direct, and review student office employees.
  1. Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and meets requirements to drive a University vehicle upon appointment.
  2. Ability to occasionally travel within a 75 mile radius.
  3. Ability to pack, load, and off-load event materials; lift and transport materials by hand or with the assistance of a small cart.
  4. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
  7. Experience using website management software such as WordPress software and Constant Contact.
  8. Experience using Qualtrics (survey software).
  9. Ability to maintain confidentiality as needed.
  10. Strong organizational skills
  11. Strong attention to detail.
Preferred: Baccalaureate degree in arts education or related field

This project appointment has an anticipated duration of three years. However, due to changes in the budget, project scope, etc., this end date could change. According to UW System Administrative Policy 1256, this project appointment cannot extend past 4 years from the hire date. This position may be converted to a position with the expectation of continued employment in the future.
