The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Department of Art seeks applications for a tenure track faculty position in graphic design. The Department is seeking an outstanding graphic design educator who has a broad intellectual and technical foundation in graphic design and can address formal, conceptual and technical issues in this ever-evolving field. This person will possess a comprehensive understanding of both traditional and contemporary practices in graphic design and will be expected to maintain a strong creative and/or research practice.
Additional duties include student advisement, committee work and other service in the department, college and university. Responsibilities will include teaching a range of undergraduate courses within the Graphic Design area. Courses may include components of graphic design history, design research, methodology, theory, current issues, problem-solving skills, innovative conceptual thinking, visual thinking, typography, visual identity, image making, motion graphics, UX/UI, and current developments in technology. Other teaching responsibilities may include Art 112 2D Foundations; Art 142 Introduction to Digital Art; Art 105 Understanding the Arts. Additional teaching may include developing and/or teaching courses in the UW Oshkosh University Studies Program.
