Position Summary:

The Management & Human Resources Department in the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Business is looking for an assistant or associate professor of management to start September 1, 2022. The primary teaching responsibilities would be in one or more of the following areas: international business, entrepreneurship, strategy for the undergraduate and graduate programs. The UW Oshkosh College of Business is AACSB accredited at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition to undergraduate business students, we have both Professional and Executive MBA programs and are part of the University of Wisconsin MBA Consortium program. The College of Business values and respects diversity in our classrooms, workplace, associations, and relationships. Bounded by lakes, rivers and forests, Oshkosh is within driving distance from Chicago, Milwaukee and Minneapolis.

Provides classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for one or more of the following: international business, entrepreneurship, strategy courses to support the delivery of quality instruction. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as face-to-face, online, hybrid and/or laboratory settings, including grading at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Faculty members are expected to publish regularly in peer-reviewed journals and to participate in service activities for the department and college (e.g., club advisor, curriculum development). At higher ranks, university-level service is expected in addition.

  • Provides classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
  • Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
  • Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
  • Engages in scholarship to insure their qualifications are consistent with Department, College and University standards.
  • Provides service to the department and college.
  • Assesses learner performance and prepares reports recommending instructional improvements
  • Develops teaching techniques that enhance course effectiveness in alignment with desired outcomes and established strategy
  • Assists in defining the objectives of the program and play a major role in carrying out program duties
  • An earned doctorate in International Business/Entrepreneurship/Strategy or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution or from an institution with commensurate credentials (ABDs with a reasonable likelihood of degree completion prior to hiring may also apply);
  • A record of excellence in teaching or potential for excellence in teaching in one or more of the following: international business, entrepreneurship, strategy;
  • A record of publications in refereed journals or ability to satisfy the research requirements of the College of Business;
  • Ability to communicate effectively;
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion and an interest in continuous improvement in the areas of diversity and inclusion; and the
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Organizational experience in the field and/or a proven record of building bridges between academia and practice is highly valued.
  • The ability, interest and qualifications to teach courses in more than one of the following areas of management (i.e., international business, entrepreneurship, strategy, creativity/innovation)
