||The Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh seeks a tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant Professor level. The person selected for this position will teach undergraduate courses on campus and graduate courses in the MSE program both on campus and in cohorts throughout Wisconsin. In addition, this person is expected to maintain an active program of scholarly research and publication and provide service to the department, college, university, PK-12 community, and the profession.
25% Major responsibilities include delivering undergraduate teaching methods courses with a focus on either English Second Language/Bilingual education, Mathematics education or Social Studies education at the elementary level (PK-8)
20% Engage in professional service to the department, college, university, PK-12 community, and the profession
20% Establish and maintain an active research agenda
15% Participate in existing or develop new PK-8 partnerships and professional development
10% Advise undergraduate students
10% Supervise elementary pre-service students during field placements in local schools
At least three years of teaching experience at the PK-8 level teaching English Second Language/Bilingual students, Mathematics and/or Social Studies curricula
Earned doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction or a closely related field preferably completed by January 1st 2020 but completed no later than September 1, 2020
Academic preparation in English Second Language/Bilingual education, Mathematics education or Social Studies education at the elementary level
Experience teaching or working with diverse populations of students in PK-8 and/or higher education settings
Experience teaching elementary teaching methods courses in English Second Language/Bilingual education, Mathematics education or Social Studies education
Experience with assessments specific to PK-8 settings such as Wisconsin’s state mandated assessments
Commitment to scholarly research and grant writing
Evidence of past service commitments to the department, college, university, PK-12 community or profession
