Position Summary:

Primary responsibility supporting high quality parent, family and community engagement in conjunction with the Associate Director - Parent, Family, and Community Engagement and Deputy Head Start Director.  Support, and provide resources and training to staff in the areas of parent, family, and community engagement. Support the FRS staff in the planning, coordination, and implementation of case management work with enrolled Head Start parents.  Network and collaborate with leadership team and professionals in community. Provides leadership and accountability for designated area.


A.  Coordination and oversight of high quality parent, family, and community engagement for families.

B.  Participate in leading a team of professionals with a strong vision for quality in line with the mission and vision of the program.  Coordinate parent, family, and community engagement and collaborate in the community.

C.  Program Information/Data Reports

  • Minimum Bachelor’s in Human Services, Family and Child Development, Social Work or related field. 

  • Experience/knowledge in working with diverse families in low income communities.

  • Supervisory experience including leading, mentoring and supporting staff.   

  • Background and experience executing evidence-based strategies to strengthen outcomes for children and families

  • Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License. Successful completion of criminal background checks.  

  • Masters degree in in Human Services, Family and Child Development, Social Work or related field or related field.  

  • Knowledge and experience in Infant Mental Health, attachment and early child development.

  • Head Start experience.

  • Knowledge of ChildPlus.

  • Knowledge of the Parent, Family, Community Engagement Framework.

  • Knowledge of diverse formal and informal community resources.  

  • Experience/knowledge in areas of management and supervision.  

  • Knowledge of Wisconsin Child Care licensing regulations and Head Start performance standards.  

  • Skills and knowledge to access appropriate community resources;
